Christmas at Chez Bookish was a glitzy affair this year. We got home from China a week before the Big Day, so there was nary a tree to be found anywhere in town. Actually, there were hundreds of trees - thousands of trees - but they're all growing in the ground.
What? We're supposed to chop one of the trees from our 15 acres and lug it into the house? Don't make me laugh.
Instead, for the first time in my adult life - I bought a fake tree. And not just any fake tree. We bought a 7-foot-tall irridescent white fake tree.
Then we jammed it full of silver, gold and red ornaments. We pimped our tree.
We also got dressed up one night and went to a party.
This photo illustrates two things: 1. It's just easier to dress them alike. Trust me on this. 2. I look eerily, creepily, FRIGHTENINGLY like my mom.
We made cookies.
Guess who missed a lot of school while his parents were in China.
Hint: It wasn't Nora the Chicken Slayer.
Some of us were exhausted by all the excitement.
P.S. Best high chair ever.
Some of us have raw faces from being kissed so much.
Some of us seem to know just how adorable we are.
Attempting a group photo was admittedly ambitious.
Perhaps too much so.
That's Bee's foot as she flings herself out of frame. Note that my children are the ones who are unwilling to be photographed.
P.S. Not our living room nor our tree.
Hey, have you seen the bit where I get under something and peek at you? It's freaking hilarious!

What an awesome photo collection!
